From March 2 to 7, 2026, three researchers from the Matsuura Laboratory at Science Tokyo visited several research institutions, including partner universities in South Korea.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaborative research with specialists in rhodopsin purification and to acquire hands-on expertise in sample preparation, with the aim of integrating these techniques into artificial cell systems.
The institutions visited were as follows:
KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), KRIBB (Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology), Chungnam National University, Sogang University, and KIAS (Korea Institute for Advanced Study)
