Research

This collaborative project intends to focus on the following objectives to build a self-powered artificial cell capable of multi-cycle reproduction as listed below:

In this way, we aim to create the world’s first artificial cell system that evolves based on genetic information controlled membrane proliferation and growth.

(1) Develop and integrate energy regeneration systems for self-powered artificial cell division and sustainability

Research Plan Schematic for Objective (1): Establishing an Energy Production System with High Conversion Efficiency

(2) Advance the growth and division mechanisms of artificial cells through lipid membrane expansion, enzymatic remodeling, and cytoskeletal dynamics

Research Plan Schematic for Objective (1): Establishing an Energy Production System with High Conversion Efficiency

(3) Develop mechanisms for the reproduction of artificial cells through genetic material segregation, cytoskeletal-driven division, and evolutionary strategies

Research Plan Schematic for Objective (3): Realization of cell division via the cytoskeleton (left).
Integration of all the above to create a recursive artificial cell and achieve its evolution (right).
